North Side High Legacy Foundation

Dear Board:

As I had shared with you late last year, my plans were to step down as president of the Legacy Foundation after serving on the board for two years. In February of this year I requested that the board find a replacement to fill this position, and to recommend someone who would be willing to accept the responsibilities and challenges of legacy foundation president. Therefore, please be advised that I am stepping down from my position as president of the NSHLF, effective the last day of this school year, June 4, 2010.

We have accomplished much since the foundation was established in February 2007. To date, we have approved over $68,000 towards assisting with the needs of North Side High. To all who had a part in this, job well done!

I feel the time is right for new leadership: leadership that is young, fresh spirited, and eager to take North Side’s legacy to a whole new level.  Know that during these past two years I have gained a great deal from your wisdom and approach in directing this organization, and have greatly enjoyed sharing time with each of you. Also, know that you can count on me for continued support and assistance whenever needed.

All the best,

Ron Frank

The North Side High Legacy Foundation is a Texas chartered 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to the current needs of present students as well as anticipating needs for years to come. It is dedicated to ensuring that tax deductible charitable giving be as effective as possible. Board members and officers work as unpaid volunteers and impose strict controls on the use of funds to ensure accountability to you, our donors. Satisfaction comes from knowing that your contributions have been effective in creating positive change in the lives of North Side High School students.

Mission Statement:

The North Side High Legacy Foundation is a volunteer based, non-profit organization committed to enhancing the educational opportunities for students and faculty at North Side High School. The Foundation is not designed to take the place of school district budgets, but to provide a means by which caring individuals and corporations can contribute financial support directly to the advancement of school programs they wish to support.

Vision:

North Side High Legacy Foundation's vision is to increase educational opportunities for North Side High students by collaborating with the school, local businesses, individuals and former students who are equally committed to advancing the quality of education for present-day students.

Our Pledge:

The Directors of the Foundation pledge to our donors that the moneys raised on behalf of the students of North Side High School will be used to enrich their educational experiences, expand their classroom opportunities and complement the efforts of classroom teachers, coaches, support staff and school administrators at all times.

Why we are who we are, the glue that holds us together

I never shall forget you, dear old school upon the hill;

Fondest memories linger ever, bless me now and always will.

When my student days are through, I shall still be praising you,

And the days I spent at North Side, on the hill.

Our Legacy, Their Opportunity;

North Side High Legacy Foundation is officially underway. We invite you to join us along with other alumni to establish a legacy for future generations of North Side High students.

North Side’s tradition of excellence in academics, athletics and the arts began with a one room school more than a century ago. Over the years generations of North Side families have watched their children graduate well prepared for college and the later challenges and opportunities life provides.

Now, it’s our turn! As space constraints, aging buildings and the lack of adequate sports facilities threaten to make our school grounds obsolete, we are taking bold action to ensure that the tradition of North Side High lives on. While the values and traditions that sustain North Side High School are timeless and without limits, the school’s facilities and budget are not and they are faced daily with immediate needs. The long, rich tradition of North Side High is being supported today by the exceptional educational standards that faculty, staff and students strive to achieve year after year. However, as alumni and friends, our support is needed.

We invite you to share a vision of on-going financial assistance to enhance academic programs, clubs and activities, support athletic programs with needs for quality athletic fields, equipment and spacious dressing facilities. In addition encouragement is needed for deserving, as well as disadvantaged North Side High students.

 Please join us in supporting this important undertaking by giving generously to the North Side High Legacy Foundation. To support the Legacy Foundation is to support fellow North Side students.

 This is our Legacy……Their Opportunity!

The North Side High Students Thank You!
